dsm-firmenich is a global science and innovation company whose purpose is to bring progress to life. Based at the Kaiseraugst site in Aargau, Switzerland, the Science & Research Operations Team supports research laboratories through hands-on operational work, coordination of services, and commercially driven process management. The team collaborates closely with Research, SHE, Quality, Procurement, Finance, IT, and external service providers, and is involved in both day-to-day execution and continuous improvement initiatives. dsm-firmenich works across nutrition, health, and beauty, creating impact felt by millions of people every day. Support day-to-day laboratory and site operations directly on campus. Assist with coordination of services such as maintenance, calibration, vendors, and logistics. Provide hands-on support for asset tracking, documentation, and operational records. Interface with lab users and service providers to ensure smooth execution. Support service and cost overviews, including tracking of services, contracts, and budgets. Assist in preparing commercial summaries and operational KPIs. Support Procurement- and Finance-related operational topics such as service transparency and cost allocation. Work with digital tools including SharePoint lists, Forms, trackers, and databases. Contribute to process documentation, harmonization, and optimization. Support reporting and preparation of management-ready dashboards and presentations. Currently enrolled in or having recently completed (within the last 12 months) a Bachelor's or Master's degree, ideally with a commercial or operations-oriented background such as Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Digital Management, or Life Sciences with a strong interest in operations, services, and cost structures. Comfortable with hands-on, on-site work including lab environments. Interest in processes, data, costs, and digital tools. Structured, reliable, and pragmatic working style. Confident with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint or databases is a plus. Clear communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in English is required; German is a pre-requisite. A realistic and hands-on 6-month internship offering insight into how laboratory operations are managed from both an operational and commercial perspective.
