The International Olympic Committee (IOC), headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration among all Olympic stakeholders — athletes, National Olympic Committees, International Federations, Organising Committees, Worldwide Olympic Partners and broadcast partners — as well as public and private authorities including the United Nations and other international organisations. The IOC's Sustainability team works across climate action and adaptation, biodiversity, procurement and circularity, spanning the organisation's three spheres of responsibility: as an organisation, as owner of the Olympic Games, and as leader of the Olympic Movement. Support the IOC Sustainability team on specific projects covering one or several of the following topics: climate action and adaptation, biodiversity, procurement and circularity. Work across the three spheres of IOC responsibility: as an organisation, as owner of the Olympic Games, and as leader of the Olympic Movement. Engage with partnerships such as the Sport for Climate Action Framework and the Sport for Nature Framework. Help prepare internal and external events — including invitations, presentations, facilitation and follow-up — for meetings with International Federations, National Olympic Committees, IOC commercial partners, and institutional partners such as UNEP, IUCN and UNFCCC. Help formalise progress reports and dashboards for areas such as IOC procurement work and IOC carbon footprint. Manage specific projects such as the IOC Climate Action Awards and the Athlete Sustainability Ambassador programme. Provide ad hoc support for cross-functional projects cutting across various competency centres within the department. Recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in sustainability, sustainable development, or a related field as a minimum. Approximately one year of professional experience in a field related to sustainable development. Fluent in English; proficiency in French or another language is an asset. Full proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong command of corporate IT tools with the ability to comply with internal technology and user policies. Knowledge of sustainable development principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is an asset. Excellent understanding of social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn. Dependable, reliable and responsible with strong planning, organisation and time management skills. Strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking and a proactive attitude. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, contribute to shared team objectives, and interact constructively with people of diverse backgrounds. Respect for the Olympic values and internal rules of conduct, including Information Security and Code of Ethics. A 12-month full-time trainee contract (100% activity level) based at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
