TotalEnergies is seeking a Procurement Analyst Intern to join their Operations Technical Services (OTS) team in Geneva. This 6-month internship offers deep exposure to real-life commodity trading operations, hands-on experience in procurement, data-driven decision-making, and supplier management within a high-pressure and fast trading environment. The role supports strategic sourcing initiatives and directly contributes to cost efficiency, risk control, and supplier performance within a 30-member team supporting trading activities. Collect, analyse, structure and interpret procurement datasets to support fast, fact-based operational decisions. Identify service providers without framework agreements or with insufficient contractual, KYC or compliance coverage. Support preparation and execution of RFPs and tenders, including problem structuring, timeline management and data consolidation. Analyse supplier proposals on pricing logic, compliance, service levels and performance indicators. Monitor supplier performance and contractual adherence. Maintain procurement documentation and ensure data consistency and traceability. Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking and quantitative market intelligence. Oversee service provider onboarding for HSE and internal standards alignment. Work with Finance, Operations, Trading Desks, IT and Legal teams. Participate in analytical price negotiations with service providers. Propose ideas to automate, simplify or redesign workflows and improve procurement tools. Final year of a Master's degree in Engineering or quantitative disciplines (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, Energy, Data, IT, Applied Maths, Operations Research). Candidates from top engineering schools (EPFL, Centrale, Mines, etc.) are particularly encouraged. Strong analytical and problem-structuring mindset with demonstrated interest in commodities markets, trading or trading operations. Prior experience in data analysis, coding, optimisation, operations, logistics or quantitative modelling. Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools (Power BI). Proficiency in Python with ability to prototype, automate and deploy solutions. Exposure to AI/LLM tools is a strong plus. Fluent in English and French. Fast learner, hands-on, results-oriented, comfortable under time pressure. Strong communication skills. Must be covered by a tripartite agreement. High-performing interns are given increasing ownership, exposure and responsibility throughout the internship based on results and impact. The internship provides hands-on experience in high-impact service procurement within a global trading organisation, rare end-to-end understanding of how trading operations work, opportunity to build a strong hybrid analytical/business skillset relevant for trading environments, and exposure to international commodity trading with direct interaction with senior and operational stakeholders across multiple departments and external partners.
