Graduate assistant position at the Institute of Geography and Sustainability (IGD) at the University of Lausanne. The role supports Prof. Leïla Kebir's research and teaching activities while the candidate pursues a doctorate in geography or environmental sciences. The position is part of UNIL, a leading international research institution with nearly 5,000 staff members and 17,000 students. The IGD brings together around 130 members in geography and sustainability with 24 professors and nearly 60 doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. Conduct personal research towards a doctorate in geography or environmental sciences on the theme of commons and their links to territory, with application to tourism. Devote at least 40% of time to personal doctoral research. Support Prof. Leïla Kebir's activities as a graduate assistant, including participating in supervising students and teaching related to territorial economy and tourism. Research themes may include roles of new commons/urban commons in tourism and territorial development, commons and territories, and commons and development trajectories. Master's degree or equivalent, preferably in economics and social and human sciences such as geography or political science. Taste for research including theory, fieldwork, and conceptualization. Interest in commons, territorial development and tourist territories. Strong interpersonal skills and liking for teamwork. Initiative and autonomy. Very good reading and writing skills. Proficiency in French (working language) and good knowledge of English. German is a plus. Competitive salary with financial support for fieldwork and conference participation.
