ABB is a global technology company that helps industries run leaner and cleaner. Its Corporate Strategy and M&A function, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is responsible for ABB's corporate strategy, strategic planning, portfolio management, and the execution of acquisitions and divestments. The Global Early Talent Program (GETP) – Strategy and M&A is a 24-month structured graduate program designed to develop future leaders through cross-functional and international assignments within ABB's strategy and M&A teams, including rotations in Zurich and Finland (Motion Business Area). Depending on the assignment rotation, responsibilities include: involvement throughout the entire strategic cycle from diagnosis, market and competitor analysis, strategic modelling and planning to portfolio management and M&A activities; providing regular macroeconomic, market, and competitive intelligence updates; contributing to strategy projects with results delivered against tight deadlines; supporting regular updates on strategy and market insights to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee; preparing business plans, projected synergies, and valuations; supporting preparation of M&A documentation for ABB decision-making; supporting different phases of M&A transactions including planning, initial assessment, due diligence, contract negotiations, closing preparations; collaborating with ABB businesses and functions throughout the M&A process; and handling and reviewing acquisition proposals received from external parties. Recent graduate (Master's level) in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related fields. Previous initial work experience in relevant fields such as strategy consulting, corporate strategy, M&A, or investment banking is considered an advantage. Excellent analytical skills including structuring, problem solving, and financial modelling. Passion for tackling complex problems, high level of curiosity, and eagerness to learn. Professional fluency in English; additional languages are a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Team spirit and a global mindset. Attention to detail and accuracy, willingness to challenge the status quo. Eligibility for a work permit in Switzerland (Swiss or EU/EFTA citizen); visa sponsorship is not provided. A 24-month Global Early Talent Program structured across three cross-functional and international assignments: one in Corporate Strategy and M&A in Zurich (starting 1 October 2026), one in business strategy abroad to gain international exposure, and one or two final assignments in business strategy, M&A, or related teams in Zurich with the Motion Business Area. Participants attend a dedicated leadership training week in Zurich during the final rotation. The program builds deep expertise in strategy and M&A, develops leadership competencies and soft skills, and fosters a strong internal network. At the end of the program, participants are supported in finding their first permanent position within ABB.
