As part of the Global Trading Support Back Office organisation based in Geneva, the intern will: assist in managing a portfolio of trading counterparts; ensure daily accuracy of trading information in the in-house trading system (the BOOK) by checking recaps, nominations, contracts, and confirmations; confirm deals with counterparts and brokers on a daily basis; chase and comment on all outstanding confirmations daily; ensure deals are linked to a legal contract; process and send sales invoices to counterparts in line with contractual terms; process purchase invoices and submit payment instructions to finance on time; reconcile outstanding items with counterparts; assist with Back Office related queries from internal and external counterparties; support system development testing; participate in team and individual projects delegated by the Global Back Office Manager; contribute to regular internal and external audits and regulatory obligations (Dodd-Frank Act, EMIR, Sarbanes-Oxley Act); and assist with general Back Office duties including emailing, archiving, and filing. Candidates must currently be enrolled in a Master's programme in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, or a related discipline. A tri-partite internship agreement is mandatory. Required qualities include: high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure; strong drive for results and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; ability to prioritise and organise daily workloads; capacity to work both independently and as part of a team; proactivity and good communication skills. Knowledge of energy commodity markets is desirable. European languages are desirable; English is mandatory. The role offers an internship opportunity within TotalEnergies Gas & Power Ltd's Global Trading Support organisation at the Geneva trading floor. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a challenging and fast-paced energy trading environment, working closely with Traders, Operations, Originators, Middle Office, Energy Data Management, Legal & Compliance, Credit, Treasury, Trading Accounting, and IT teams. The position provides exposure to international trading operations (Geneva, Houston, Singapore), regulatory frameworks, and system development projects.
