Its Power Trading and Origination division operates in an international, fast-paced trading environment and is actively expanding its global power trading activities. The New Ventures team, based across Geneva, Houston, Madrid, and the UK, is instrumental in identifying new markets, supporting acquisitions, and integrating new assets and teams into the power trading perimeter. Regulatory Monitoring and Analysis: scan and summarise updates to energy trading regulations, policies, and market rules at local, national, and European levels; assess their impact on trading activities; propose strategic actions or risk mitigation measures. Business Development and new market entry: analyse the Electricity Market Design and regulatory frameworks of prospective European countries; prepare key documents for market entry (licensing, TSO contracts, exchange memberships); draw out learnings to advise originators and traders on commercial opportunities. Internal Coordination and Influence: collaborate with cross-functional teams (Trading, Legal, Risk, Compliance) on regulatory projects; draft internal regulatory communications such as flash emails, webinars, and internal reports; assist in preparing responses to public consultations with national authorities. Interact with a diverse range of internal stakeholders (trading desks, legal, research) and external stakeholders (consultants, potential partners). Currently enrolled in a Master's programme (Engineering or Business). Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and the ability to analyse complex information effectively. Rigorous and precise in approach to tasks. Business-oriented mindset combined with excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Basic knowledge of but strong interest in the energy market. Ability to synthesise complex technical and regulatory information and present it clearly and concisely in English. Proficiency in French or another relevant language is a plus. Must be autonomous, objective, innovative, resourceful, and well organised. A 6-month internship within the New Ventures team of TotalEnergies' Power Trading and Origination division in Geneva, Switzerland.
